Discount Gift Cards

Post by mooman66 » Thu Mar 14, 2013 7:48 pm

I have been using discounted gift cards for a while to purchase Lego and wanted to share a deal I got today.

ABC Giftcards is selling Barnes and Noble giftcards at 13% off face value. If you use the promo code RELAX4, you can get an extra 4% off. No, not 17%, but close to 16% off altogether. Pick up a card and wait for a BN coupon and you have yourself a pretty good deal, seeing as BN usually has reasonable prices.

They also sell TRU, Target, among other cards. I get an email once a week with a promo code for a rotating variety of vendors.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I've bought and sold cards through them and it works.

Seems like an interesting concept but its not overly reassuring that thier faq and about us pages redirect back to their sales page...

It looks like most of these are delivered through the mail...do they do tracking numbers? How long do they take to get?

On the ones I've sold, you physically mail in the card. I always do tracking for mailing to them. When they ship them they do tracking automatically. If you are nervous about a physical card, they often have electronic gift card codes that you get once your Paypal processes. Otherwise it's a week or two for the card.
This isn't the only company out there. Some have snazzier websites, but they are basically the same.
You can always try a 5 dollar card and see how it works.

Speaking of gift cards, be aware that Lands' End gift cards can be redeemed at KMart (instore and online).
if you're a Chase Ultimate Rewards member, there is once in a while an option to redeem points at 20% discounts on these cards.
