Old Republic

Am I the only person who wishes that Lego would stop production of these Old Republic sets and focus on the 6 films and to a lesser extent the Clone Wars.

The Old Republic sets are the only ones from the SW theme I collect, so I kinda disagree :geek:

Luckily though, there is plenty for everyone as far as themes, and styles go, and the SWTOR is only 3 sets out of 100's. :-D

I completely disagree. If anything, I want more Old Republic sets. Or to be more specific, Knights of the Old Republic sets featuring the main characters (Revan, Malak, etc from 1, and Nihilus, Treya, etc from 2). We need an Ebon Hawk set. Maybe some sets of even older events with characters like Exar Kun.

I've never played the Old Republic games myself, but the Lego sets lead to me watching the cinematics on YouTube and they are quite impressive. I ended up getting the Sith Fury Class Interceptor and I think it's actually nicer than the TIE fighter. I do agree that there is a BIT too much focus on Clone Wars sets though.

It's interesting that the plot of Old Republic takes place thousands of years before the original films, but some of the technology looks even more advanced haha

While I don't collect the old republic sets because I tend to stick to movie based sets (primarily OT), some of the old republic sets look very nice. I like how we see the early form of the tie fighter etc before it evolved into the tie fighter from the OT, similar to many ships we see in the PT.

That being said I did play The Old Republic MMO that all these sets are based on. The game has multiple issues and ended up not being very fun imho. If it had ended up being the next WoW like many had hoped I'm sure we would be flooded with old republic sets by now.

Lego jumped the gun a bit. They should have waited to see if the MMO was popular before they produced sets based on it. I can't help but think that the old republic sets will vanish like the player base of the game they are based on.

I just personally hope thy spend more time making the movie sets since Clone Wars is done and the Old Republic game isn't really selling that well.

Since I am fairly new to the collecting scene (1.5 years) I have missed out on a lot of amazing sets. I have found that a lot of the good sets lately have been really focused on Episodes I-III or Clone Wars.

Granted, there have been some good sets for IV-VI, but I find not as many. I need an AT-ST (or 2) and an AT-AT (or 10 :-) )
